MOPIRG
The Missouri Public Interest Research Group,
MoPIRG, which has its chapter at STLCC-Meramec, is raising money for
the homeless as part of their many projects. On Sept. 11, the group
raised more than $200 for Gateway Homeless Services of Saint. Louis.
Amongst other projects, MoPIRG is fighting for clean energy.
"MoPIRG's
main goal for the semester is to get the American Clean Energy Security
Act (ACES) passed through Congress," Katie Thomas, MoPIRG's student
organizer, said. "We will be fighting for clean energy by generating
hundreds of calls to Senator's McCaskill's office."
MoPIRG's kickoff meeting is on Sept. 21 at 5 p.m. in BA room 105.
