MoPIRG Students worked all day in the Student Center Quad on Meramec's campus to fight the high cost of textbook prices. MoPIRG collected over 80 surveys filled out by students, most of whom spent hundreds of dollars buying books this semester.

MoPIRG Asked students to write how much they spent on books on fake money and tape it to a thermometer. The thermometer filled up in no time!
MoPIRG has collected these surveys in hopes to expose abusive policies by the texbook publishers that rip college students off. Practices like "bundling" books with other materials is a practice that publishers are employing to rip off students, who say they rarely if ever end up using bundled materials in their classes.
